Challenges in Upscaling Social Enterprises

Sinag Online

A learning tool for Social Entrepreneurs where you can:
"In the bootcamp, I learned not only like improving our business, the marketing, and operations... Collaborating with each other, with my fellow social entrepreneurs was a... really a big thing for me. Because I feel like I'm alone before. Now, like I have a big family to like a support group that they can also talk your advocacy and they will be supporting you as well.

After 2016, I went home to Bohol. And then, I also improved the operation, the marketing of the social enterprise... And at the same time, like I found to love more my community... And then at the same time, they feel like, because I tell them my experience with the, with the bootcamp... I was able to transfer my knowledge to them through my community. Not only for myself, but also the community and to the people who work with us."

Dalareich Polot, Ginto Chocolate, Sinag 2016

"I learned a lot from the bootcamp. Uhm, yung lagi kong sinasabi, feel ko street smart good na ako sa entrepreneurship. But when I joined the bootcamp, ang dami ko pa palang hindi alam. Especially nung nameet ko si Dr. Ed Morato. At tsaka yung mga other mentors ng Bayan Academy. Doon ko nakita yung 'Wow. I have a lot to learn' And I was thankful na nasama ako sa bootcamp. Kasi yung mga tinuro nila nung time na 'yun, hindi namin matututunan sa street. Tapos very thankful and at the same time, yung cost actually pag pumunta ka, pag nag enroll ka sa courses na yun, is worth millions."

Dean Cuanso, Accents & Petals, Sinag 2017

"I think the BPI Sinag bootcamp was very important because it surrounded us with two kinds of people that are very important in any startup business. So first, are actual experts—people who know what they're talking about. People that have been there. Or at least, have a close idea of what you're going through. And then second is, it's very important to also be surrounded by like- minded people. If anything, the bootcamp was very important because it exposed us to people that were able to scrutinize and actually refine our ideas, but at the same time, it also allowed us to meet people that re-enforced our conviction to do what we do."

EJ Mariano, AKABA, Sinag 2016

"One big learning for me as an entrepreneur during the bootcamp was there was a big focus was pitching your business because we did have to pitch in front of judges, in front of colleagues. While I was preparing for this we realized as with my partners, that we also needed to focus if we wanted to sell our business to investors. If we wanted to sell our business to our clients what we needed to do was really focus what do we need now—what do we need to expand, and the nice thing about the entire bootcamp as well, is it made us really think about the different aspects of our business; Where do we need to focus on right now if we want to accelerate our business?"
